MANAGING YOUR STOCKS: OPTIMISING PRODUCTIONS AND AVOIDING SHORTAGES

When launching a clothing brand, it is absolutely crucial to think ahead about future collections in order to anticipate upcoming productions. In this article, we will provide you with valuable advices that could help in our future collaborations.

Be proactive in your stock management:
One of the initial steps is to ensure that you always have products available for sale, avoiding being constantly in a state of urgency. This approach minimises errors and allows for more considered decisions.

Improve punctuality in your deliveries:
By planning in advance, you can guarantee the timely delivery of your hats and prevent potential delays. Avoid the risk of manufacturing when the factory is already overwhelmed with orders.

Allocate time for tech packs approval:
If you wish to explore different design options or if you are not entirely certain about your concept, consider enough time required to approve your tech packs.

Take time to reflect on your project:
It is crucial to take the time to step back and reflect on every aspect of your project and avoid hasty decisions. If modifications are necessary on the tech packs or prototypes of your caps, hats, or beanies, make sure to allow enough time by starting early. Allocate a delay of approximately 15 to 25 days for sample production.

Anticipate potential issues:
By planning ahead, you have the necessary time to address any potential problems. Anticipating difficulties allows for better preparation to overcome them.

Anticipate time for material sourcing:
If you need to find specific fabrics that are not available in our swatch, make sure to make some time for research and sourcing. Some materials may require a longer lead time.

We recommend to start planning at least 6 months in advance. For example, prepare the spring/summer collection in the fall/winter, and vice versa. This timeframe allows for more precise planning and better preparation for successful production.

There are numerous benefits to advanced planning. It improves the quality, speed, and reliability of your production process. Planning in advance reduces the risk of errors, ensures greater relevance of your products, and meets the needs of your customers with more accuracy. Additionally, it provides better stock management, enabling you to respond more quickly to your customers’ requirements. By offering the right item at the right time, you contribute to building trust and loyalty among your customer base.

Do not underestimate the importance of good planning for the development and growth of your brand.
